A key part of the Sid Richardson Carbon & Energy Co.’s corporate mission is the continuous improvement and innovation of our many processes and products.  SRCE’s R&D team works aggressively to focus on ever-evolving material requirements and fine-tuning our product line to meet a wide diversity of performance applications.

The heart of R&D activities is SRCE’s central testing and research center, located in Fort Worth, TX.  Here, we provide state-of-the-art analytical and rubber testing services, as well as a fundamental understanding of the science of carbon black in order to advance technical developments in the field with the aim of creating new and improved products.

These efforts are further supported by a pilot production facility in Big Spring, TX which allows the capability of producing experimental grades of black or scaling up lab studies as a precursor to full commercial production. In addition, SRCE’s research programs are enhanced by collaborative efforts with university researchers, world-renowned consultants, and numerous joint development projects tailored to meet our customers’ specific needs.
