SR409 – A New Versatile Carbon Black Grade

Sid Richardson has recently introduced a new versatile carbon black grade to the rubber market.  SR409 is a unique, new carbon black which has high structure, wide aggregate size distribution and specific surface area between traditional tread and carcass grades.  It has been developed for various applications where the unique properties of this grade can be utilized.  Due to its high structure it imparts a relatively high modulus and hardness while giving relatively low hysteresis due to its wide aggregate size distribution and low specific surface area. Fast mixing, easy incorporation and good processing are other advantages of this grade.  SR409 imparts improved overall tire performance when used in non-tread sections and can provide enhanced compound properties in various non-tire rubber applications.  Be the next to “ride the rails” with this improved performance carbon black!
